Cookie Policy
Which cookies and browser storage HikingCare uses, and how to control them.
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This page explains which ones HikingCare uses.
Essential cookies
WordPress sets a small number of cookies needed for the site to work, for example to remember a logged-in editor’s session. These do not track you across other sites.
Analytics cookies
If analytics is enabled, Google Analytics may set cookies to measure how the site is used (pages viewed, time on page, approximate location). The data is aggregated. You can block these cookies in your browser or use Google’s opt-out add-on.
Local storage (not cookies)
Our hiking tools save your inputs and results in your browser’s local storage so you can return to them later. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Third-party cookies
Retailer sites you reach through our links (for example Amazon) may set their own cookies under their own policies.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect some features. See also our privacy policy.
